Dumpling King - Forest Lodge

We went to dine in and asked if it was counter or table service and they said it was table service. We then sat there for 30 minutes and were the only dine in customers and yet were totally ignored. They didn't even notice when we eventually walked out.

Not a bad place to get dumplings, but not outstanding either. I tried the steamed vegetarian dumplings - they were nice, but predominantly filled with vermicelli noodles (and I prefer more vegetables). They also seemed to have a lot of water inside each dumpling, which made me think they were boiled rather than steamed. Still, they were quite tasty and the price was reasonable.

In the window it says best dumplings in Sydney, we thought that it might be a lie but they were delicious, pork and Chive is my favourite. The dipping sauce is lovely and you get so many

Second time we got a takeaway. The first one wasn't too bad and being very new, you hoped it got better, but sadly it has gotten much worse. The waitress is about 16 and is too busy playing with her phone to even know you walked in. The food was terrible. The salt and pepper squid was swimming in an oily mix of onions and chili. It was soggy and terrible. The dumplings were OK, but only just. Won't be going back.

I'm very surprised by one of the bad reviews for this restaurant. I could not speak more highly of the quality of these dumpling! I would always rather this food over the long lines and the price of the likes of Din Tai Fung. The food is inexpensive but nothing short of delicious! I have enjoyed absolutely everything! Please don't be fooled by the decor, please give this little local a go. I recommend any of the pork fried dumplings!!
