Pescado used to be excellent, but my visit in Jan 2019 was very disappointing. Perhaps they've changed hands? I spent almost $70 for fish, chips, and pineapple rings, for three adults and a child. I also paid for tartare sauce, but forgot to collect it, and they didn't give it to me, or remind me about it. So they cheated me out of that. The fish was dry and the batter was thin. Portion size was ok, but the food was disappointing. Much better value for money elsewhere, e.g. a well-known place in City Beach...
This is a take away fish and chip shop nothing more, nothing less! Obviously they offer and serve other periphery 'stuff ' like potato scallops, squid rings etc. We ordered grilled and battered fish with our chips. The servings were reasonably generous and cooked to perfection. Couldn 't fault the meals and price is considered acceptable although at the top end. Would return in the future for a 'fix ' of fish and chips.
3x adults wanting 3 different meals for take away, they warapped all the chips in one and all the different fish pineapple fritters together in another. Not so handy when your sitting in car and you have to try and split up the order, why wouldn’t you wrap them individually !!
You need to order your fish and chips during quieter times to ensure they are cooked in hot oil. During busy times the cooked product is often oil laden and quite unappetising. All menu items are good value. The shark is our preferred fish as it is always tasty. Potato scallops are of the “reconstituted” type and are not the best. Opt for the takeaway box for packaging your order as the content will stay fresh and crispy for longer than the standard paper wrap.
