The Fernie Hotel & Pub

The food was pretty disappointing. The complexity of flavours were lacking. My Moscow mules were pretty underwhelming too. It wasn't disgusting, but I didn't finish my food and I definitely won't be eating here again.The staff seemed nice but seemed to favour what I assume are locals and regulars over my group.

Very good food (surprisingly good for what's advertised as pub food e. g. we loved the fish tacos and the Fernie burger. Very friendly staff and for us very important one of the very few (the only? dog friendly patios in Fernie [despite BC government having relaxed that rule already in 2020]. Enjoy the many local beers as well!

Had my very First Beer here at the age of 17. 40 years later it's the same great place for locals and visitors. Great beer and delicious food.

The food was quite good on the whole the open face brisket was nice the fish tacos we pretty good. The wings were very good thought, big and a nice light crispy coating. The service was pretty slow though, it was not busy.

I have never left a poor review for a restaurant but felt compelled to today. We were here Oct/22 and were very happy with our food and service. I acknowledge that this is a busier time however the establishment was not packed today. We got our water and menu in a timely manner. We ordered 2 grilled cheese sandwich specials with the potato leek soup and one fish and chips meal. We waited, waited, waited.... started noticing that people who came in after us and ordered after us got their meals and some were practically done eating. The waitress came at one point and said our meals should be out shortly. We honestly believe that there was a mixup and our order was lost. About 15 20 minutes later she came again to say it would be another 1.5 minutes. We could see into the kitchen and another soup was dished up and sent out with a meal for people who came in after us. After about 5 minutes we finally left and went to A W??. All in all we were waiting over 45 minutes after our order was taken so were probably in the restaurant at least an hour with no food. Yet others who came in after us received their orders even a table of 6! And our meal should have been fairly simple given it was the special! We feel we should have been advised that there was a mixup with our order and could have had the option of leaving earlier and not wasting our time! We travel through Fernie at least 8 times per year but will never stop here again. And we certainly won't recommend this establishment to people.
