Marlie's Eatery is my favourite lunch place in all of North Sydney. The line at lunch time already is evidence to how great the food is. I have been here multiple times and have converted my workmates. For all our team lunches and birthday celebrations, we always end up there. (Mind you, our team consists of 3 people .<br/ <br/ The people are lovely and welcoming. The smell when you walk in to the restaurant is divine. The convenience of taking the food to eat elsewhere is great. The flavour. My gosh, the flavour. I highly recommend to try the Big Joe or the Yard bird in a hawker bowl or wrap. These are my top 2 favourite.<br/ <br/ I wish this establishment the very best and I hope they stay for a long time. Or even move closer to my house so I can eat there at anytime. But for now, I'll ne enjoying how close they are to my work : .
I LOVE IT! Such delicious fresh food with generous portions. Not gonna lie, it's not the cheapest option for a weekday lunch, but you do leave very full and satisfied. Also it's just so damn tasty I wouldn't mind paying either way! The vegan options are amazing and they sub with vegan mayo as well. Without a doubt will be back when in North Sydney.
There's a pretty solid queue stretching way out the door on a hot day, so expectations are high. The Big Joe with the 16 hours slow cook beef brisket was full of flavour with a touch of sweetness from the sweet whiskey BBQ sauce. The meat itself was not as melt in the mouth as I thought a 16 hour slow cook should be, but still pretty good. <br/ <br/ Came back again a few days later to try the Black Bird, New Orlean blackened chicken. Again great flavours, the chicken was juicy. The Cajun aioli tie everything together nicely.<br/ <br/ At $13.50 it's a bit expensive for a salad bowl, but you do get plenty of meat a pretty big serving. The staff were all very friendly made it so worthy to come back again, and queue out in the sun.
Big joe, 16 hour slow cooked beef brisket was a little too sweet for my liking. But my colleague swears by it.I tried something different today and went with the pulled pork roll it was sensational.Really friendly staff that are passionate about their food and love to have a chat.
