The Waterhole - Fallon

Very good food, and the staff is excellent as well. One of the few places in town where you can enjoy a great meal in a clean (read, smoke-free) environment! Would recommend to anyone.

This place was recommended for prime rib by our motel desk clerk. The clerk even phoned the restaurant to make certain that they would have the size and style we wanted. After being assured that our order would be fine and making a reservation for us, we arrived at the Waterhole at the prescribed time. I first ordered a cocktail and then was told that they were out of prime rib. When we told our waitress that we had called ahead to make certain it would be available, she went into the kitchen and then told us that the prime rib that was left was now well done (we wanted it medium rare). I ordered a steak instead. Our salad arrived and I was still waiting for my drink. My drink then finally arrived at about the same time my dinner arrived, before I finished my salad. My dinner had a potato instead of rice as I had ordered however they did switch it out fairly quickly. The steak was OK but a little tough and very salty. The vegetables were overdone. The waitress did her best to ensure our satisfaction and I commend her for that but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.
