Un lugar genial. Nos atendieron bien a pesar de llegar algo tarde 2.20 de la tarde (hora portuguesa). Se nota que la comida es casera y los platos son muy completos. Recomendable 100

This unpretentious place is set back from the road it's in and so a little difficult to find. But it was worth the effort, to get excellent suckling pig leitão assado à bairrada. In fact, the main entrance is at the back, from the car park. Service was excellent, as was the vine verde. Worth a trip out of Viana do Castelo if this is the dish you're looking for.

Fantastic piglet, very tasty! If you want to try this portuguese dish in the Minho region, this is the place to go! I didn’t order dessert this time because I was full, but I can recommend the rabanadas (fried bread with dried fruit syrup)

I visit this restaurant regularly, in fact it is always one of the first that I visit whenever I am in the area. It is about 15 minutes from Viana do Costella and 20 minutes from Esposende. I always eat the 'Leitao Assado ' (Roast Suckling Pig) which is the restaurants speciality and I have never been disappointed in ten years. The main dish comes with a unique sauce, as a centerpiece and a separate plate of fresh salads all of which are 'Delicious ' The pigs are roasted in the restaurant, behind the counter, and the portions are carefully weighed, usually by the owner, to ensure equality. The restaurant also has a full range of other typical Portuguese Cuisine including the famous 'Bacalhau ' (Cod Fish) which is probably the most eaten dish in Portugal, the Portuguese love it. It is immaculately clean with table cloths nicely laid out and seats about 60 people. The clients consist of approximately 98% of local Portuguese,which is a very good sign, and the owner speaks English and French and probably Spanish and a smattering of each will get you bye. The service is friendly and attentive and helpful. If you are visiting the restaurant at the weekends it is very advisable to book in advance as the locals very frequently have large family reunions or celebrations there. The restaurant is a little tricky to find for the first time as it is situated on the main through road but behind a block of apartments and small shops, but there is parking behind the block and it is well worth the time to find it for the first time, I doubt that you will ever regret it.
