Casa Rossa Vesuvio - Ercolano

The service was incredibly slow, it took us 2 hours to get some of the food. At 2 hours we had received 75% of the ordered food. We eventually. left without receiving a large portion of our meal. Do not go here, it is a bad restaurant

This place has large outside dining areas and a huge inside area. The night we were there there were only 2 other tables occupied but we went past it the night before and it was crowded. (May have been an event going on then) Food was average and we did not like the house wine. Everywhere else in Italy the house wine has been good. Food we had was not as good as other similar places but not bad.

We got to the restaurant after a long walk up Vesuvius, and sat down in a nice open space. The pizza was served table by table, but then they go to us. They served four of us and then forgot about the other two until the end when we reminded them. The pizza was very nice, and they also served us with a delicious homemade cake and bottle of Pepsi. The waiters did serve us well but could’ve been friendlier and the toilets needed a bit of renovating or looking at. Someone in my class is a coeliac, and her pizza wasn’t as good as the regular ones. The dough was alright, but got soaked through by the oil and tomato sauce as it could have been a bit more roasted. The cheese wasn’t spread, and made clumpy strips on the pizza. They made a good effort to make the gluten free, but it could have been cooked better. Overall it was substantial and pleasant but could have been improved in some areas.

You can not wait 1h for 6 pizzas. I understand the place is full and everything, but 1h is too much! It takes 2m to pizza.
