Midori Japanese Gourmet Sushi - Encino

For any negative assessment I write, I also have to write a neutral/good assessment. that is the negative. I just started keto and can not eat rice at the moment (what is the love of my life.) her sashimi menu is very limited. and although sashimi is only sushi without rice, I had to order the sushi w/ rice for the fish I wanted, although I could not consume it. So I thought I would just consume the fish and leave the rice as they were so reluctant to give me the rice, even though I told them I couldn't eat it. I also ordered uni, but it took 10 minutes to come back just to tell me they were all out. then, while I obviously had an important conversation with my gf, the rude lady server decided that it's a good time to interrupt my conversation to tell me that it's a fee for the rice I left behind (which is just about a 1/2 cup and irrelevant). So I'm not in good mood now, plus why did they not mention this earlier when I told the server that I was serving him I'm a reasonable guy. I paid everything that was the additional fee (even though it took another 10 minutes to me my bill) and just gave my card to the server and told her to load it easily without me on the list because I was just done at this point. I've tipped 15%, but I've tipped about 10%. I am a reasonable person and reasonable enough to not go back after I have an inappropriate fee for half a slip of the left tear I did not even want.

Great service and sushi. currently only everything you can eat. so it is 33-38 per person depending on lunch or dinner hours. all foods were fresh and hot prepared. the mango limonade is my recommended alcohol-free drink.

Sushi was a great and friendly service. good quality for everyone they can eat.

There are hours a tad off when considering that they close at 10 on some days, but in reality they will close the kitchen 30 minutes before closing time. so they cannot order after 9.30, which does not make sense and creates unnecessary strife when they notify customers. they should keep the kitchen open until closing and then turn off the kitchen by 10. 30 minutes they won't get home faster, and I feel bad for the waiting staff, which then has to notify the customers of early next time.
