Denny's - Ely

The hotel is located in historic Hotel Nevada and in the same location was the previous diner. Good prompt service as always. Menu is now all Dennys and not the Hotel Nevada theme as it was before. I ordered the spicy Carolina chicken sandwich, well boiled, my only small complaint is the cut tomatoes was first placed on the roasted bread that it soggy. Tomatoes placed on the chicken patch would reduce the soggy bread effect. Overall very delicious and spicy. Side of the onion rings were oily and muddy, but okay. I have a refill on my cola and although I haven't checked that I suspect there was a refill charge. My bill was $18 and changed. A bit high, but the situation in Ely is not too close to a large utility city, so price is understandable. I'll admit, I liked it better than the Hotel Nevada Restaurant, but it was okay. Things and places change.

Fast service, friendly waitresses and delicious food at a reasonable price. Loved the setting inside the historic hotel/casino.

We got the free hotel breakfast from staying at the Hotel Nevada. 2 eggs, 2 tiny slices of bacon, pancakes and coffee. They were running out of pancake mix so we got french toast instead. Added hash browns. Everything tasted fine, but geez, was the waitress uninterested. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Finally came around to offer more coffee after we were obviously completely done with our meal and ready to go. Lame.
