Shillinglaw Cafe & Restaurant - Eltham

We've been a few times and the food is always good and so is the coffee. The outdoor area is great in the warmer months, so i'ts great for families as there is an enclosed garden area for the kids to run around.Only negative we have found is they leave the door open for easy access to outside, problem is it's quite cold for those sitting inside.Other than that, the food is great and it's always service with a smile.

Now this place is a great find (courtesy of the Entertainment Book - otherwise we would've had no idea that it even existed). Cracking food, great allergy/intolerance options, and even a WIDE choice of milks to suit your coffee/tea/smoothie palate. Service was a little slow, but with only 2 chefs and 4 waiting staff, they got hammered and STILL kept us well fed and watered. We'll be back!

With four others we enjoyed a lovely lunch at this café. Heaps of choices on the menu, Would love to have eaten outside, but it was raining. Inside was cosy. The food was served promptly and with a smile from our waitress.

Nice old worldy cottage next to fantastic local library and park. Great spot to enjoy a coffee or something light to eat with friends. Easy to take young kiddies along as the outdoor area is spacious and secure.

On a magnificent autumn day my family of three adults had a lovely brunch at this gorgeous Eltham landmark restaurant. The shaded outside courtyard is the best place in Eltham to sit and enjoy a relaxed breakfast, lunch or just a cup of coffee and if you have a dog there are plenty of walking tracks nearby and your doggie friend is more than welcome to join you. It is extremely child friendly with a huge sandpit with toys in the corner of the garden and this seemed very popular. I noticed there were plenty of parents enjoying a peaceful lunch while their children were playing. The outdoor area is quite large so even with small children around it wasn't noisy or annoying for those without kids. The food was lovely - highly recommend the ricotta pancakes! It was an extremely busy day when we visited but service was excellent and the waitresses were very good at dodging children!!!
