Davinci's Italian Family - Elkhart

This is our #1 Italian restaurant in this area. Others may have better ambience or glitz, but for me, their consistency is outstanding. I have never had a bad (or even mediocre) meal here. The food is always hot and delicious. Love this restaurant!

Davincis used to be our all time favorite pizza place. But in the last year or so the customer service has been a nightmare. You call to order to go and are immediately put on hold for several minutes. You order and are put on hold again. Then you are told 30 minutes for your order and I gave it an hour before picking up and it still wasn’t ready. I have currently been waiting for an additional 15 minutes now and still nothing. It would be one thing if this was a fluke. But it’s not. This has happened the last several times we have ordered to go. It’s disorganized. Nobody knows what they are doing. Doesn’t matter if it’s busy or if it’s not. It’s the same almost every single time and what’s worse is none of the staff seem to care. It’s really too bad. The food is great. Not sure why they let everything else go downhill so bad.

Since childhood, this has been my favorite traditional Italian pie ever! This is also the heaviest pizza I've ever had that isn't Detroit or deep dish (their deep dish pizzas are on point too). They lay the meats and cheese on thick. And the crust! Indescribable! And it doesn't flop under the weight of all those toppings, either! To this day, I still can't figure out what the magic ingredient or touch that makes this crust so darn special. Does a priest bless the dough? There is no other place that serves pizza quite like DaVinci's.

My wife and I dined here on Saturday March 25. We arrived around 1630 and the place was pretty empty. I ordered the Linguine and peppers. After about 40 minutes of waiting the waitress informed me that they didn't have any Linguine. Two issues. This an Italian restaurant. How do you not have this item so early in the evening? Most importantly why did it take you 40 minutes to tell me this? Do better.

16” regular crust pizza. Pepperoni, sausage, mushroom. Absolutely fantastic! Whenever I’m in Elkhart, I HAVE to get pizza here. I have found no other pizza like this any where else I’ve been. Even if you’re driving down the Indiana Toll Road, it’s worth the slight detour! This is even great leftover pizza!
