Gifford's Kitchen Social - Elgin

Service was slow. Food was mediocre at best. People were friendly. Good place to sit and hang out, but not for food or service. Had the lunch specials and took over an hour from start to finish.

My personal experience here was not good. I went on a Saturday March 16th and they had a St Patrick's day special corn beef dinner. I ordered that and this was their attempt at roasted potatoes. I went at 430 in the afternoon and not even half the place was occupied. Also this picture not only displayed the first attempt, but also their replacement order of potatoes which I dumped on top of the original and was still not worth eating. Sucks because it is a nice environment.

What a great set. Much to do and beautiful setting on the terrace, even if it is a drainage reservoir. Very attentive staff of our big party. Live music was nice.

The service was excellent. The poutine was beautifully rustic and the beef from the slides was mostly executed. we will go back

The food and service here is fantastic. I had the smoked salmon with Avocado Texas toast and it was amazing. Everything was so fresh and it really had some rich flavors for each part. My fiancée had a custom frittata with hash and fruit on the page. The Frittata was perfectly baked and the hash was just perfect, not fat. Definitely back to this place for the weekend brunch!!!
