Przekaż informację zwrotnąI ordered vegan fish chips and a vegan burger through the App Foodstuff. The fish and chips were delicious and very well served (the chips could have been cooked more). The burger (UnbelievaBurguer) was good, but quite simple and without frits, so I ordered sweet potatoes that were really nice. The service was fast and everything had good presentation and was served in sustainable materials. Updated by previous review on 2022-07-15
I was so excited to try vegan fish and chips, but the staff member who served me was so stunning and rude from the moment I came to the store that it was one of the worst experiences I had in Edinburgh. She was almost hostile in her passive aggressive tone, didn't want to explain what some of the options were (like, when I wanted to clarify whether 'supper' meant chips were included) and rolled her eyes when I ordered a meal deal (sell me with trouble We don't hAvE a food deal ... when it was listed on her board). Service and food are two separate things, so I still had hope – but without incident. The option I wanted (vegan fish) was 't available, so I got the vegan Calamari. That was ok, but it was only fried mushrooms, and needed more nori in the dough to give it a hint of oceanic taste. However, the chips were bad, which was very surprising. Some reviewers on Google Maps have mentioned that they do not taste fresh, and although they were just cooked, they did not – they tasted somehow and were somehow dry and powdery. The drink that I got was advertised as thyme, rosemary and lavender mix was usually cinnamon and not tasty in the smallest. The chocolate was left out in the heat and was white in parts. And although I ordered vegan tartar sauce, none was made available – and not the vinegar I asked on the chips – so I had to make myself through the spike chips without taste (and also not enough salt). For the amount I paid, it was absolutely worth nothing, and I would unfortunately not go back to go again.
Can't believe that a Chippy had a vegan menu, can't go by with nipples to try something.
Lots of vegan options which is great. Tofish was ok but needed more nori and scampi was really lovely texture and well cooked but quite flavourless. Chips were grand but it was all a bit cold. Overall it was ok but wouldn’t get it again.
Direct opposite Haymarket station, I would strongly recommend to any vegan looking to grab a meal while waiting 30 minutes for a train. I had the tofish and garden burger, which were both tasty and reasonably priced.
