The renovation inside the bistro looks and feels great with small booth areas and new dining furniture- they've done a great job!Unfortunately the food was the same bought in frozen items that just don't cut it when their prices are higher than other establishments.$18.95 for a Chicken schnitzel and I think around the $23 mark for crumbed cutlets - we each got about 9 chips on our plate which were average and the veggies were not great - carrots were so thin that after sitting in the Bain Marie practically disappeared the minute they hit your mouth. We had recently had the same meals at another establishment and whilst we might have paid about $4 more in total the schnitzel was real breast and house crumbed, chips were fantastic and veggies were large and really lovely. We had to compare and unfortunately with that in mind we'll head past ET's every time and go that little bit further for a more enjoyable pub meal.
Having not eaten at ETs for a year or two and needing a place close to have a meal. We chose ETS. A five minute walk was well worth it. Great Monday night specials plus quality menu meals. Definitely going back soon with other family members. Cheers and thanks ETs.
I had never been to this establishment before. Was invited to a night out with friends, dinner and entertainment. The food was yummo. I had the steak, chips and salad with garlic sauce. We sat in the bar area, food was delivered together and fairly quickly too.
I had the large steak with roast & boiled veges. My three companions had ribs & chips, lasagna & veges and schnitzel with chips & salad. The meals were large and filling, not perfect in presentation but certainly great value for money. The bar prices were a bit 'over the odds' compared to other pubs and clubs in the nearby suburbs so we drank less than average as we were reluctant, particularly after finding out bar prices rise 10% more at 9pm. Grrr!!The restaurant counter staff were excellent as were the waitresses who traversed the bistro and bar area to find us. They even gave great table service on desserts to the couple in our group who ordered desserts.A loud pub and bistro but welcoming enough.Bar/pub staff somewhere between grumpy and so-so.Tables and chairs could use a good scrub/wash.Men's toilet was like Saigon 1975.Bistro staff brilliant.Meal quality fine.Meal quantity generous and good value.PLENTY of safe parking.Passed three out of five in important respects.
Have been twice now for their Sunday evening special of Oysters Kilpatrick. $13 a dozen is a fantastic price. Only had 1 mains which was Hawaiian Snitzel. Fantastic taste and very well cooked. The chef does excellent meals. Fantastic service both in the Bistro and also the Bar. Place has been packed both nights. Will make this my regular pub grub. The 25 min travel is worth every penny.
