Kiko's Mexican Food Cantina

I just can't understand why people keep eating here. The food my wife I had was bland, the service was below average and the whole atmosphere was loud and unsettling. Maybe they were great long ago but they've lost it.

Unfortunately, it wasn't what I expected, and that's my fault for not asking more questions. Chicken flautas in a gravy sauce was OK. The sides were tasty. The flautas were lukewarm and bland.

Great food, drinks, and service. Really big portions.

The food, for me, was sub par. it reminded me of like, Americanized Mexican food in the 80s and 90s, or maybe something you would get in the Midwest today. Lots of ground beef and iceberg lettuce, salsa that's more like ketchup. I am sure there is someone for whom this is ideal, but they are probably over 60 and I expected better for a spot so close to the border.

It was okay. We enjoyed the green avacado salsa. I might return for the food. But our waitress was wonderful. She made the experience worth it. I wish I could remember her name.
