On the way there, we encountered a road full of sheep, and a farmer's wife asked us to wait a few minutes (which turned out to be closer to 20 minutes) as they were moving their 2000 ewes to be sheared. She shared about their farm and the surrounding countryside while we waited. Upon arriving in Dunedin, we treated ourselves to a night in a motel called Manor Motel, as recommended by our Lonely Planet guide. We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit for $130, which was a good price. After leaving our car in the car park, we explored the city, visiting the Octagon area, the museum, art gallery, and cathedral before enjoying live 60's rock music and local beer at Ratbags Innocent Bystanders. We also had a snack before heading back to the motel, passing by the impressive old railway station. The owner did our washing while we were out, and despite some internet connectivity issues, we enjoyed a walk on the beach, spotting a lone penguin and visiting the outdoor heated swimming pool. Back at the motel, we found some chocolate cake left for us by the owner, had dinner, watched a movie, and retired to a comfortable bed for the night. Overall, a highly recommendable visit in Dunedin.
The restaurant provided excellent service and the food was really tasty! We highly recommend trying the Maple Ribs, as they were absolutely delicious. The buffalo wings were decent, but the standout dish was the pizza, which was really enjoyable.
We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant with my family. We ordered 2 large pizzas which were incredibly generous and delicious, particularly the thin crust pizzas. We tried the lamb and BBQ chicken pizzas, both of which were delightful. The wings were also delicious. I highly recommend this place!
I had been wanting to try their ribs for a while, and finally, on 24/4, a friend and I went for dinner and took advantage of their 2 for 1 deal on ribs. It was a great value for the price! The portion size of the ribs was decent, although my friend had a smaller piece compared to mine, which was mostly cartilage. The meat was tender and fell off the bone easily, with some pieces being slightly dry but overall soft. The ribs were not very saucy, which personally I didn't mind, but more sauce would have been nice. The potato wedges were extremely crispy and delicious. The salad was a bit lacking, with the mesclun leaves not being to my taste. Overall, the meal was a hit and I look forward to going back for more. I may even be brave enough to try the full rack next time! 4/5 stars.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The pizza I ordered was delicious and the staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. The outdoor seating options are wonderful, with one located on the ground floor and the other on the first floor balcony. I have visited this restaurant several times and have no major complaints, although the decor does feel a bit dated.
