The food is so good! Everything! I usually get the pulled pork and brisket plate, but this past weekend my group got the all you can eat family style which is extremely well priced!! The pork ribs are my favorite. Make sure you get the bread too. A few other notes:-indoor and outdoor seating-dog friendly-not vegan friendly-you can watch the meat being cooked-there’s a special Sunday menu-get there before noon on Sundays to avoid the rush/long waits. They open at 11!
In short,One of the best bbq places I’ve been to.With a few more details,This place was fantastic. It is massive and has a lot of land to feed the masses. Seating areas everywhere. The alcohol window is one side and the food is on the other side. Bocce ball and corn hole for people that want to hang. Lots of tables and picnic benches. Loved the vibe and everyone was friendly and helpful. We literally tried everything and there was nothing that we didn’t like. I’d sit and eat there all day. Def would come back when in the area.
One of the best BBQ place in Texas!! Good vibes and great service. My favorite menu item is Brisket, always hit the spot where it’s smoky and tender. You have to try their SAUCES because it go well with Everything. They have plenty tables both indoor, outdoor and picnic area. Overall, A must try when you visit Austin!FYI: They accept CASH CARDS so don’t worry?
Salt Lick BBQ is a delightful treasure that's more than worth a visit. This down-to-earth, rustic spot serves some of the most authentic, mouth-watering barbecues I've ever had. The brisket is heavenly--smoky, tender, and perfectly seasoned, while the ribs are succulent and fall-off-the-bone good. Don't forget to try their unique mustard-based sauce; it's an unexpectedly delicious twist. Service was prompt and friendly, making us feel at home--a must-visit for any BBQ enthusiast or anyone who appreciates good food in a charming outdoor setting.Pros: The barbecue served is juicy and delicious. The setting offers a rustic charm with cooling fans. There's ample space, a large indoor dining area, and an outdoor patio. They have an impressive selection of beers, wines, and cocktails on the other side of the property.Cons: The prices may be too high for some. Extended wait times, particularly on weekends. They do not accept reservations.
For all the trouble and time it takes to get here, it's not really all that great. The sauce is a bit strange, and the meats are somewhat mediocre. It's honestly more trouble than it's worth. And the only times I've been here was because tourists wanted to come here.
