Hometown Buffet - Downey

I normally expect a super busy, messy and run down with dirty bathrooms at a Hometown Buffet restaurants .... BUT TO MY SURPRISE... WOW!!!! The Hometown Buffet in DOWNEY is NOTHING like your typical chain restaurant! The diner was super NICE CLEAN... the customer service was TOPS! The employees or workers and management were very professional and very neat in appearance, well groomed (hair neat, make up, attire). The food was HOT, FRESH and READY, delicious! I like that the food wasn’t messy or on the floor like other restaurants I’ve been to before. I noticed the manager (Erika) was totally on it, working hard to keep the place in order and clean. Asusena took care of my table, she was professional and very kind.... GOOD FOOD, GREAT STAFF AND SPECTACULAR RESTAURANT TO DINE IN! Very impressed THANKS GUYS

Dining can be a positive or negative adventure and my money is on the Home Town Buffet in Downey...My friends and I always feel so comfortable because of the staff that is always there to lend a helping hand to us Elders! I sometimes have difficulty balancing the plates and when I ask the staff for assistance, they are jolly on the spot with a smile and courtesy beyond words. Oh, did I mention the good food? We try to work our schedules around the days they serve the meatloaf!!! It's the best meatloaf this side of the Pecos. It would be nice to have the meat loaf on a continuum... Kudos to the manager and staff....

The place was almost empty which was a little weird considering it was 7pm on a Saturday night... There was way too many dirty tables which is why I gave it a four stars... The food was pretty fresh yet the soups were all bland... I tried the chicken noodle and the pozole and they were not good... The chicken, steak, tacos, and ham were delicious as was their chocolate cake!! 60 dollars was an ok price for a family of four...

They had carnitas, beans, chicken, and steak! I had a great meal, lots of protein and coffee. Delicious! Yummy

It was pretty good my wife and I enjoyed our breakfast here.
