This restaurant may have a gimmicky vibe, but it’s also incredibly enjoyable. Upon entering, you're instantly whisked away to a pirate ship, complete with TVs displaying underwater scenes and "Finding Nemo," alongside staff dressed in striped pirate shirts. While our server was attentive and professional, the wait for food was a bit longer than average. The food itself was tasty, though it didn’t stand out as anything extraordinary. The fish fry was hot and delicious once it finally arrived. However, the real highlight here is the drink menu. The selection is impressive, and if you visit at the right time, you can snag some great martini specials. I think I sampled almost all of them, and each one was delightful. There’s been a "for sale" sign on the building for a while, so be sure to hop on your fastest ship and visit this hidden gem before it becomes just another treasure buried in the ocean.

Since that first visit, I’ve been back about 5 to 7 times. Although we live in Lancaster and Scallywags is located in Derby—about a 40-minute drive—we only make the trek during the summer. This place is simply fantastic! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a swashbuckling pirate (a rather fun statue, by the way). It genuinely feels like you're at sea. Either “Finding Nemo” or “Pirates of the Caribbean” is playing on the TVs, and the decor makes you feel like Captain Hook, ready to embark on a delicious culinary adventure. I try to sample something new every time I visit. One of my favorite things about this place, apart from the amazing food, is the shark sticking out of the wall at the bar—it’s as if Jaws caught a whiff of the wings and decided to make a visit! The owner is incredibly friendly and has been there every time I’ve visited. I can’t say enough good things about this place! I just wish they had a location closer to home because I'd be there much more frequently. Each time we go, we make sure to order an extra serving of wings to take home. If I had to pick a last meal before setting sail or walking the plank, I would absolutely choose Scallywags!

Once again dee the owner absolute nitemare paerson to deal with let alone she tends bar... foods good which is a shame because i live walking distance but unless she not there which is rare dont even bother going

Great food, tons of wing sauces to choose from, delicious sandwiches. Would definitely recommend the polish sausage sandwich sided with brocolli slaw. So good! Cajun BBQ and Jack Apple sauces are great with the wings. The wait staff were very nice and efficient. The food came out quickly. The drunks were great, especially the martinis tons to choose from. And the decorations inside were very cute. Nice place to have dinner at. Definitely going back!

The wings are phenomenal!!! Service and ambiance are on point! Cannot recommend this place more!!!
