Scruggs Bbq - Decatur

Upon ordering in person, I was treated rudely, and the cashier told me that I was speaking too quickly. After her disrespectful behavior continued, she asked if I wanted food or not, despite me being quite polite. I expressed my frustration about the way I was treated, emphasizing that I was a paying customer and deserved better service. When I mentioned that this was an unprofessional operation, she responded by saying she only hears respect when talking to her husband and claimed she didn't want my business. At one point, a burly man came out and informed me that they were closed. Overall, the management seems poor, and it’s concerning to see a business that could be great struggling with customer service issues. While the food may be good, the lack of professionalism and courtesy is a significant drawback. It’s upsetting to see a black-owned business not uphold a certain level of respect and class. If the team is unhappy, they should consider making changes or seeking help to improve their service.

Wow! The food was absolutely amazing and incredibly fresh! I ordered the regular fish plate, and it came in a huge portion! I also noticed someone else getting the BBQ potato, and it looked enormous and delicious! Overall, I give the food a perfect 5 out of 5!

I had the brisket with green beans. The brisket was fantastic, so tender it practically melted in my mouth; however, the sides were quite average. The meal wouldn't have been as enjoyable without the barbecue sauce. The staff was friendly, and the food was served promptly.

Parking is a rough place - plots of missing pieces of asphalt. I don't think they're open in the dark, so that's good--- just careful. Inside it is a BBQ joint. The floors are clean, tables are clean, and the devices need a little attention/TLC. I went in and it was a bit confusing. There was a nice lady (customer) who moved me to mention that she had already placed her order. I waited to place my order... to eat one here and go three. When I entered the register, they asked me to have the seat at a table - they would be right with me for both orders. They were really slow, but they kept their word in 15 minutes after I went to my command. My food was on the table less than 5 minutes after my order. The employees were angry/they did not sit around. You just need some good workers, like they all have. Sweet tea is REAL. If you are from the north and want to try, this is the real article. The Caramel Cake is AWESOME. You won't find better if you do this, please tell me because I want to buy a piece of what you found. Sunday The menu is... I went against the norm and ordered chicken and dressing. Big portions... I couldn't eat anything. The green beans had a unique taste... not my thing. It was interesting... just not my thing. The Yams were delicious/nearly perfect. The chicken and dressing was good. I wish it had a little more chicken in it, but it was well done and not over the top with sage or celery like many. This review has almost a triple star. It was good- only expected more chicken from a BBQ joint for a $15 dish. Give me less pages and more chicken. I was impressed by two things when I started going---1. The kindness of the staff and the real concern for the quality of what they have presented. 2. The remarkable cleanliness of the toilet. Four stars for me.
