Mestizo Contemporary Mexican Cuisine

We stopped by for drinks and an appetizer on Thursday night and left feeling quite disappointed. We arrived about 15 minutes after opening and were the only ones in the restaurant. While it's understandable that the restaurant can't dictate its foot traffic, the atmosphere was uncomfortable, especially since the servers seemed to just watch us every time we glanced over. The prickly pear margarita had an unusual taste, reminiscent of Vicks VapoRub, and the queso was nothing more than plain white Velveeta. I might consider returning during a busier time and possibly sitting on their terrace, as our server was friendly and the venue itself has a nice ambiance.

The food was quite bland and lacked seasoning. The fajitas didn’t come out sizzling, and the quality of the beef was poor. While it did fill me up, I can only give it two stars. However, I do want to mention that the servers and wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the quality of the beef was really disappointing!

The food here is absolutely delicious! It's not the typical Tex-Mex you usually find in the USA, and I love it! My personal favorites are the crab cakes and the Pollo Mestizo. Give them a try—you'll thank me later!

I finally checked Mestizo. I give them 5 stars because they are very courteous and do their best to make your culinary experience great. I had no chance to take photos. My mother-in-law was with me and she's not in taking photos. We shared a Steak Fajitas enjoyed the mild salsa with the chips. The manager wanted to say hello. She was so sweet. I'm back. I want to try more dishes. Update: Stop on 22. July for a late dinner after a movie in Birkdale. Connor, our server, was great! Beautiful outdoor seating! I love how you can be here in the heart of Downtown DAVIDSON. Beautiful environment, great atmosphere.

Not your typical Mexican. If you?re looking for a burrito this isn?t the place. It?s upscale and absolutely delicious. We were nervous about trying it out but can?t wait to come back. The steak and shrimp was great.
