Horizen Cafe - DARWIN CITY

We had breakfast here each morning. The food was home style, plenty to eat and the staff were very friendly.

Great atmosphere, fantastically friendly staff and well cooked and presented food. I had 4 breakfasts here as I stayed in the hotel. Fantastic relaxed experience.

This cafe is part of the Ramada Suites Zen Quarter Hotel, and most of the customers were hotel residents as far as we could see. Our breakfasts were included in our room rate, but they were excellent - a variety of cooked items, plus cereals, cold meats, yoghurts, fruit, muesli, bread - a huge choice. If you want a barista coffee that's extra ($5) but there's instant coffee and tea available as part of the price, plus fruit juices, etc. We also had an evening meal here - they seem to cater mostly for room service in the evening, but the cafe interior is nice, and we sat outside on the terrace overlooking the port area which was very pleasant. Our steak was beautifully cooked and nicely presented. It was VERY quiet - there was only one other group eating in the restaurant itself, but, as I said, most of the meals seemed to be going upstairs as room service. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, too.

We ate here a few times over our 10 day stay and found the food to be okay and served with a smile. Some nights they had $10 specials which was not bad! You can also get takeaway from the Restaurant. There is seating inside and outside on the balcony overlooking the harbour.
