The Shortlist Espresso Bar

The service in Sydney is average at best, but this place is terrible. The staff seem too worried about maintaining their 'Too cool to care' image and not concerned enough with doing a good job. When the food eventually arrived and I reminded them of the missing coffee, it tasted ok but nothing flash

Tried to get served at Tripod nest door with no success. Walked in here and was greeted straight away - what a contrast! Great coffee and the best chicken sambo ever!

If the weather is fine sit outside and watch the Uni students heading to their studies while you enjoy probably the best bacon and egg roll and coffee in Sydney! I love this funky little cafe and could sit here all day every day. Don't tell anyone else though or they'll all be here!

We chanced on this funky little cafe when staying in the Adina nearby and were looking for a breakfast place. Turns out it was good choice. Coffee and tea (loose leaf) were excellent, as were the muesli with yoghurt (and milk) and the avocado toast with egg. Various options where to sit (in front, inside, in the courtyard). There were a few people there that were clearly regulars. Always a good sign. The kinda place where I probably would hang out quite often if I were to live nearby ...

The place is unassuming, and probably overshadowed by the Tripod Café nextdoor, but the bacon and egg toast is delicious, the coffee is decent too.
