Sagra Restaurant - Darlinghurst

This is a small and unpretentious restaurant where the food is the star of the show. It was recommended to us by foodie friends in Melbourne and Sydney and I'm so glad we went there. The menu is small but wonderful. The service was unobtrusive and helpful, the wine list small but great. My background is Italian and this was about as close as I've got to northern Italian home cooking. Loved it!

We enjoyed excellent tastes in the dishes presented by Sagra. The atmosphere in this restaurant is friendly and reminiscent of little restaurants in Italy. We found the service to be helpful and not intrusive. A good wine list also. Our party of four really enjoyed our evening at Sagra and will come again.

Bouffe super, p'tit Resto Italien super sympathique et tout est fait maison, pain, pâte ect. Ne vous fiez pas au mauvais commentaire je suis très difficile et je vous le recommande sans hésitation.

Honestly. We went on a night with set menu specialities from Piedmont. On our way in 4 gentlemen on their way out said we were in for a treat. They looked like they knew what they were talking about. But I still wasn't prepared. Pumpkin ravioli - not my thing usually. The pasta was so light delicious the filling was fresh flavoursome. We all wanted a spoon to scoop up the clear broth it was served in. Truffle pasta. Again pasta divine and truffle (not heavy handed) aromatic. Beef in red wine loved it and chocolate crepe for dessert. Heavenly. At $90 a head with wine excellent value. Will be back for next regional speciality.
