Really good! Got the chopped brisket Frito pie and wasn't disappointed. The meal is really filling by itself. The kitchen is cafeteria style so service is quick. They also have a bar and TVs.
The brisket was quite dry. I was informed that I could combine two sides into one for the fries, as they only had one size available—the large box, similar to a KFC meal box. However, when I received the fries, I felt misled about the portion size. While the brisket was tender, it was still very dry. Additionally, the toast was a bit stale.
The experience was just average. The price for the two-meat platter ($24) seemed quite high. The sides, including coleslaw and macaroni, were underwhelming, but the sliced brisket was quite good. The pulled pork was decent but nothing special. The restaurant is conveniently located next to Smash Burger and across from a Starbucks. However, the dining area was very messy, likely due to the busy crowd.
I was hoping for a sit-down meal, but it’s counter service only. Overall, the food was pretty good. The meat was a bit dry, but I assume they don’t have a smoker on the premises, as there didn’t seem to be room for one. The beans and slaw were tasty, but the portions were quite small. I really enjoyed the window seat where you can watch planes taking off while you eat. I would definitely stop by again if I find myself at DFW and craving BBQ.
