I had a fantastic experience here. It's the perfect blend of a high end atmosphere with quick dishes and minimal human contact. You order from the tablet at your table, and when the food is ready, it comes to your table. The teas are quality loose leaf teas from Lupicia, many of which I had tried at some point before this lunch. I had the sukiyaki, which had phenomenal flavor, though the broth was too sweet to consume on its own. I loved the variety of dishes that come out when you order. There's a combination of flavors and textures from chewy rice to crunchy pickled veggies, to soft warm noodles, to rich slices of beef dipped in slow cooked egg. The ingredients were top quality and the yolk of the egg was such a rich red-orange color with a wonderfully decadent flavor. My husband had the tonkatsu, which is his favorite dish. For dessert we had the black sesame ice cream, which was served with a small container of molasses to drizzle over the top, which added the perfect amount of complexity and sweetness. My husband eats regularly at the Palo Alto location and was thrilled that there's a location closer to us now. Definitely will be going back!

We brought friends here for lunch. Everyone loved their food, they commented that they liked the flavors and especially how the food was served on the trays. It reminded them of how the food was served to them when they went to visit relatives in Japan. Also, the 'No Tip ' policy is something unusual, but it 's nice for a change. They all want to go back to eat again soon.
