We first tried it for a lunchtime drink after visiting the local Sunday market and decided to return for dinner a few days later. The décor is really quirky, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is simply delicious! We started talking to a pair of Canadian ladies who have a residence close by and they it was their 'local '. I can see why.
We’ve eaten at La Cava twice. The first time, it was outstanding. The second time, it was a little disappointing, unfortunately. But we will still go back because we loved it so much the first time. Our favourite dish is the chicken mole enchilada. The first time, it tasted so incredible. The flavour of the mole sauce is phenomenal! The second time we went, several of us ordered a platter that had the chicken mole enchilada with a few other things. Everything tasted great but it was all not evenly tempered. Some items were piping hot and others were actually cold inside and warm on the outside, almost like it came out of the fridge and was reheated. Quite disappointing. They provide chips and amazing salsa to start and the staff is great. It’s worth a visit to take in all the authentic decor. Check out the washrooms. Very cool!
