Hortencia's At The Cliffhanger

The service is wonderful, and the Mexican food here is the best on the mountain. I highly recommend bringing your family for a great meal and dining experience!

I really love the location and view of this restaurant. We arrived shortly after it opened, so it wasn't too crowded. I expected the service to be excellent since there were just us and two other families present, along with plenty of staff members, but unfortunately, it wasn't. The food seemed to be reheated, as if it had been kept under a heat lamp before being served. What convinced me even more that they were just reheating was how burnt and hard the tortilla in my taco was, and the food was excessively salty. I couldn't finish my meal. It's a shame because I would have loved to enjoy the food, given how beautiful the restaurant is.

I’m giving this place 5 stars mainly for the stunning views, which truly made the visit worthwhile. The scenery was fantastic. As for the food, it was decent, but nothing that really stood out. I ordered a strawberry margarita, not realizing it would be a blended drink. It ended up being quite chunky with ice, making it a bit difficult to enjoy. The service was generally good, but we did find it a bit annoying when, just after receiving our food, we were asked to settle the bill. We hadn’t even had a chance to eat! We set the bill aside, but the server returned multiple times to ask us to close out. I would consider returning, but I would definitely opt for different menu items next time.

The service was nice, the food was good, the view was great, but the prices are steep. I will certainly be back again but I would warn that it is a bit pricey. The fajitas are nearly $30. The combination plates are around $18. I do think it's worth it to come here for the atmosphere and the views.
