Unfortunately, it felt excessively overpriced, especially since a 20% tip for the restaurant owner was automatically added to the bill (who tips the owner of a restaurant?). The food was good, but at that price point, I expected it to be exceptional, not just a standard menu with a set price. The service left much to be desired as well; we were simply pointed to a coat rack to hang our own coats and then had to wait a while for the check to arrive. I would have shared this feedback with them directly, but they don’t have an email address. I might have been okay with everything if it weren't for the greediness of imposing a 20% tip for themselves. It really left a bad impression, which is not what you want after spending $240 per couple on dinner, excluding wine.
The food was good. We were there for a family gathering and had pre-ordered the meal. I would have liked to try something different, as I'm not a big fan of duck.
This charming BYO restaurant has a delightful French influence. While it is a bit on the pricey side (entrees are typically around $30), the food is quite tasty. During our last visit, we were the only ones there, so I encourage everyone in the Cranford area to give it a try at least once. By the way, I recommend making a reservation, as I believe they occasionally close if they aren't expecting customers.
Beautiful little French influences BYO restaurant. A little expensive (figure in the $30 series for a duck), but the food is good. Last time we were the only customers, so everyone in the Cranford area should go at least once. BTW, I would recommend a reservation because I think they sometimes close when they don't know it will become customers.
We went to the Prix Fixe New Year's Dinner $100/pp for what usually costs $65. It was seriously overpriced with a mandated 20% tip for the owner of the restaurant (which the owner of a restaurant tips? . The food was good, but it should have been stunning fabulous for this price, far and beyond what it is usually instead of the same menu with a fixed price. The service included showing on a dress stand so that we hang our own coats and finally appear with the check. I would have passed this criticism to them, but they have no e-mail address. I would have been fine if they weren't so greedy, they needed a 20% tip for themselves. It left us with a bad taste. Not what you want if you pay $240 per couple for dinner without wine.
