Marino's Seafood And Market - Cranford

This restaurant is always delicious! I make sure to stop here whenever I am in the Cranford area. I have been a fan of this Jersey Shore style seafood joint for a few decades. They serve fresh, perfectly prepared dishes that really allow the seafood to shine. My personal favorites are the baked or broiled flounder and any kind of shrimp. I always pair my meal with a side salad, and it is never just an imitation - it is fresh and so delicious, they should bottle and sell their dressing!

I have never been to this restaurant, but trust me, I will never go! My whole family are huge fried oyster fans, so when we saw that this restaurant had fried oysters on their online menu, we were excited. Three months ago, I called to ask about the fried oysters. The person I spoke to said they didn't have any at the time, but to leave my number and they would call me when they came in. I never heard back from them. Today, I called again to ask about the fried oysters, and was told they no longer had them. I mentioned that the menu still advertised them, but was told they were hard to come by. The owner made excuses and suggested I go somewhere else to get oysters. I was disappointed that they would advertise something they didn't have. I'm glad I called ahead before going and getting stuck with nothing to eat. I will never visit this restaurant, and I advise others to call ahead before going. The owners' response only confirms the lack of integrity at this place. They knew all along that they didn't have oysters, yet they continued to give false hope to customers. If they were honest from the beginning, this review would not exist. We will never visit this restaurant after the experience we had.

We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh and delicious shrimp cocktail plate we ordered. We will definitely be ordering it again in the future!
