Fantastic service, great atmosphere and the best food we had during ourtrip to NOLA by far!!! The Fried Chicken and the old family recipe mac and cheese omg! ?
So glad we came here, based on the recommendations of a local friend. Great start with friendly greeting from hostess Stacy and then every recommendation from our server Quinn was on point!! The High Hat Burger and the Pimento Mac and Cheese was ?... 5 star meal right there! The pork on the Cuban sandwich was so tender and delicious ?. We were only in town for 2 days and had to come back to High Hat for the brunch (also recommend by Quinn), before we left. We had the Chicken and Waffle and Cornmeal Pancakes. They did not disappoint. We are leaving NOLA fat and happy ?. Thank you High Hat!! We'll definitely be back.
The High Hat Cafe was okay, worth another try. I saw the restaurant about 3-6 months ago and wanted to it give. I scoped out the place online and thought the menu looked good. Pimento cheese is hard to find around here, and several menu items included it. I ordered the vegetable plate so I could try a few items as a meal. I really enjoyed the ginger-rosemary tea, but there were no free refills, and I wasn't going to pay $4 for a second glass of tea. Tea. $4. And they couldn't afford a refill. The vegetable plate included 3 sides and cornbread. Well, I love cornbread and pimento cheese, so my hopes were high. I ordered stewed tomatoes okra, pimento cheese grits, and pimento Mac cheese. I thought the pimento cheese was going to be cooked in the grits and macaroni, but there was only a little smattered on top. The pimento cheese did taste pretty good, but the grits and macaroni were bland. They needed a little salt or butter and definitely more pimento cheese. The cornbread wasn't the sweet kind, thankfully, but it too was kind of flavorless. The food looked a lot better than it tasted. I'm still going to try it again. I have high hopes for the High Hat Cafe.
