Had fries dressing and gravy.It was just ok..Server brought out a piece of Canada Day birthday cake being that it was July 1st.Small portion but free ...about 1 inch square.It was the thought that counted I guess.I would return

I have stayed away from writing reviews on anything, but when I had this "seafood chowder" I felt the need to say something. It was just a meager bowl of pasty white hot water with too much pepper a few diced vegetables and no seafood that I could see. It smelled like fish but I was hard pressed to find any in the bowl, you would expect a seafood chowder made in Newfoundland to be half decent but this was nothing but bad.As a local I personally will never go back after this experience.

I have to say, this was the absolute WORSE seafood chowder I have ever had in my life. Living in Newfoundland, you have to expect good seafood chowder, or at least great fish chowder, this was neither. I was a gluey paste of flour, too much pepper, no flavour, no seafood, MAYBE a 1/2 teaspoon of some sort of fish, but not enough to give it flavour.. I'm telling you, I'm serious, this was horrible soup. Now, to top it off, as you can see in the photos, the soup didn't even come above the ladle part of the spoon, and it was $23.00 for two. As far as I'm concerned, this place is a tourist trap,, charging huge money for horrible food. Really, we live on the island,,, HOW can you screw up seafood chowder?

Great little spot in Cow Head. Really only other spot than Shallow Bay. Seafood specialties. Very ggod value.
