At The Penventon

There was a function in the nearby Venetian Suite, and it seemed that all the staff's attention was focused there instead of on the rest of the diners. At one point, a gentleman at a nearby table informed a waiter that he had received the wrong sauce with his meal, which was not what was listed on the menu. On a positive note, the food was superb, as always, and this experience won’t deter us from returning for now. However, if we encounter the same lack of service again, we will certainly reconsider our decision to come back. Here’s hoping it was just an off night for the staff.

The food took about an hour to arrive at our table, and the staff were quite unhelpful and unfriendly. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The setting of the restaurant is beautiful, but the appetizer we ordered was overpriced and took an unusually long time to arrive. The Chicken Madras, which was my main course, came out at 6:50 PM. While the rice and naan were very tasty, the madras itself was disappointingly sweet, overly tomatoey, and lacked depth of flavor. Since this was also a birthday celebration, we felt rushed and didn’t have time for dessert. We weren't the only ones facing issues; the table next to us also received the wrong drink and food orders. I have a fondness for the Penventon Hotel, having visited several times in the past and always enjoyed my experience, but last night was a complete disappointment. If you are going to offer a pre-theater dinner service, it’s essential to allow customers enough time to enjoy their meals. I made an effort to accommodate this, and it was disheartening to see such a decline in standards. I hope you can improve, as I expected much better from you.

I stayed at The Penventon with a friend for my birthday and it was nothing less than perfect! When walking into my room they had decorated it with balloons and an elephant made out of bath towels, such a sweet touch. I was then later greeted with prosecco at my door!! We also had dinner in the restaurant and the atmosphere was so calm and welcoming. I had the main chicken dish and it was divine. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, will definitely be staying again.

I ordered a Cesar salad at £19 it was fine but I've never had one which was completely cold . Chicken, bacon and a egg . Everything taken from the fridge friends had sandwiches at £10 or more nothing special about them a few crisps on the side . Over priced but nice setting!
