Belvelly Castle De Barrà - Cork

Belvelly Castle is a tower house dating back to the 14th-15th century, located in County Cork. Situated near the quaint village of Belvelly, it offers a picturesque view of the only road bridge that connects Fota Island to Great Island. The castle's architecture is truly impressive, and there is a spacious field adjacent to it. Additionally, there's a unique round cylindrical structure with a curved roof located by the lock. Having lived in this area, I would love to visit again!

That was a delightful surprise on my way to Cobh. The location of this private castle is absolutely perfect.

The castle was beautifully decorated for St. Patrick's Day 2021. I really enjoy visiting this place every now and then. While it may not be open to the public, you can still capture some great photos here.

Beautiful restored castle on the entrance to the large island. This year the owners decided to light up the castle for Christmas. The castle is private.
