Café Velo - Cork

Unexpectedly great experience! I had the porridge, a perfectly made big bowl of thick, creamy oatmeal topped with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. My wife had two perfectly poached eggs on sourdough toast. They also have a nice assortment of pastries. Excellent service too, and reasonable prices.

The service we received was appalling, myself and three friends attended this cafe on the 2 of February 2023. We ordered three toasties and a salad. After waiting half an hour for food the salad was dry and had no dressing, I received the wrong food and another toastie was incorrect. When the waiter thought he gave my friend my food he shouted at her to stop and she tried to take a bite. I was told by a member of staff I’d have to wait another 15 minutes for a sandwich. As I didn’t have time I just took the chips from the incorrect toastie and was charged. All in all the service was extremely unprofessional and we were incredibly disappointed in everything. Unfortunately this cafe used to be our go to place but we will no longer be returning

Early afternoon brunch, half sandwich and soup. Parking is difficult, as on Cork quay and busy 2 lane city road. Service was excellent, friendly staff and manager regularly checking all tables. Recommended.

Its a nice cozy place. Staff is very efficient and kind. Food was lovellly.
