Several times and it is so consistent with great service and delicious food. Everything I've tried is a treat. If you are looking to be treated royally in an atmosphere that is not stuffy miander over and enjoy!
What a terrific place! I loved it when it was Lila's Bistro and only open for lunch downtown Miami but now they have really spread their wings. What a beautiful new setting a huge space that has an intimate feel with well spaced tables and original artwork. The food is out of this world and the service is fantastic. The pan seared tilapia is my personal favorite, with a choice of white or brown rice along with grilled veggies. And that chicken jalapeno cheddar soup wow! We will be back, over and over! Thank you for the start of a wonderful relationship.
I was always a fan of Lila's Bistro downtown, so I made it a point to go to the grand opening party for Mama Lila's Bistro on Ponce and I had a blast! Not only was the food even more amazing than what I remembered, but the place is beautiful and the atmosphere is superb. I wasn't surprised that by the middle of the night the place was packed and they literally had to turn people away. I'm so glad they moved to the Gables and are now open on weekends, for dinner and for brunch on Sundays. That's my next visit, brunch on Sunday. I can't wait to see what they do with brunch! I predict this will be the hottest new restaurant in the Gables.
I first visited Lila's with two friends who go there often and had been telling me that I should visit. I finally took them up on the invite, and I absolutely loved it, the food was excellent. I decided to take another friend there, and again the food was excellent. I continued to go because the food was very good and I felt I was getting what I was paying for (great food). The service there was OK, but it was the food that really brought me back. My last visit there was in mid-July and the service was absolutely HORRIBLE, (I had always noticed that the service wasn’t really that good) not to mention I invited two other friends to come along with a friend and myself. The service was soooo bad that day that I haven't been back and have absolutely no desire nor intentions to ever go back again. The waitress was very, very rude and condescending, although I had been there on other numerous occasions, and she wasn't very friendly then, but this day she was so rude that I forgot how good the food is and vowed to never visit there again...So, if you’re looking for great food served with attitude this is your place!
A family owned treasure that is hidden among all the big names in South Florida. Their food is superb as well as the way they treat their customers. Their sandwiches are a must have but if looking for a fancier meal do not hesitate to ask for their guava glazed salmon!!! Delicious.
