The Gather Cafe - Copeland

The homemade cakes are the star attraction at the village café. A friend and I are quite frequent visitors. Sadly, on our last visit my friend asked for tea in one of their nice patterned china teapots and was told these nice teapots were reserved for tea for two . How odd to find such a pedantic jobsworth attitude in a volunteer run, community café. C 'mon Gather, treat your customers with some cheer! It might be worth noting that the café can be very noisy dogs barking, the world 's loudest coffee grinding machine, and cutlery clanking. So if you have issues with noise levels, this might not be the place for you (although, there is outdoors seating).

Dropped in after a walk around Ennerdale Water on a very hot day. Excellent selection of cakes and after choosing we enjoyed a massive wedges of ginger cake and cooling drinks. The venue is lovely and offers much information on the walls about the surrounding environment. Will certainly look to visit again when in the area.

Enjoyed a few visits to the gather for Tea and Coffee. Locally run community cafe which prepares good food and is the gateway to Ennerdale Water.

Community ran with a small shop. Good selection of food and drink. Only sampled the ice cream and tea but staff were friendly and compliment WiFi a bonus.
