I was feeling hungry and the restaurant was conveniently close, so I decided to check it out. When I walked in, I wasn't sure what to do since no one greeted me, but I eventually found a table and was told a server would be with me shortly. Despite my initial uncertainty, I was promptly attended to and ordered a beer and the daily special, a steak and cheese wrap with fries. It was a unique combination that pleasantly surprised me. The food was tasty, the beer was good, and the overall experience was different in a positive way. Additionally, there was some entertainment near the main entrance on Cedar Street, which added to the atmosphere. Overall, if you're looking for a place to grab a bite and a drink near Sudbury, I recommend giving this place a try. It may have reminded me of a bingo hall, but the food and experience were still enjoyable.

Dear reader, This restaurant is running a SCAM they double bill customers and steal their money. I went on January 30, 2015 and they ran my card through saying it did not pass although I clearly saw the word ' approved ' on the...screen they said this was not legit since the paper did not come out of the machine (mechanical issue which I did inform them). They then proceeded to pass the bill a second time. Sure enough I checked my bank statement at the end of the month and yes they billed me twice. I then intervened FIVE times to obtain a refund including presenting a bank statement which they had to admit RED FACED that yes I had been billed twice and they would proceed with a refund as soon as they could verify their records all this within a week. Funny that at no time in the conversation had they ever asked for my name, address or phone number I waited an ENTIRE MONTH and as sure as there is a god in heaven I never received one cent from these people . I even consulted a legal representative who told me that I had a ' slam dunk ' however it would cost me well over a thousand dollars to get a lawyer, pay court fees and take a half day off work for the price of a meal and I think they actually know this and so the SCAM CONTINUES. Make no mistake the food is OK, the prices are OK but watch your *ss especially if you pay credit/debit since you may get a NASTY surprise at the end of the month I know it happened to me and have ZERO results after 5 interventions once you leave through that door they will be laughing all the way to the bank. Conclusion: AVOID at YOUR cost. Just to prove my transparency I will give my full e mail and feel free to write to me for any additional info/details. The Colonial serves the best comfort food! From fries to poutine, everything is top-notch. I have been getting lunch from here for years and I am always happy with my meal!

Decided to try this Restaurant as it is close to home. Read previous reviews and decided to give it a chance. Had Burger and Fries. Portion size was small, fries were terrible I left them uneaten. Service was poor and price was high for what...you got. Normally if I see any redeeming factors I give a restaurant 2 chances before I decide never to go back. This restaurant will not get a second chance.

Went without reservations and there was about 20 of us. The waitress seemed a little overwhelmed with us all coming in. Took a bit to get our pop/juice orders, ice cubes tasted off. Was informed to not use the washroom by one of the people...in our group whom did use the washroom. When the food came, bit by bit it was very good. The entry to the place is very confusing and would not be suitable for someone who has any type of mobility challenges. The food is inexpensive and home made style food, the soup was very nice.
