I recently passed by Gigi's and noticed a sign on the door announcing its closure. The sign mentioned that the restaurant had been sold to a new owner who plans to open an East Indian restaurant. I am interested in trying out the new cuisine and wish the new owners success. Over the past 9 years, this location has seen several different restaurants come and go, including Helena's, Thyme on the Sea, Toto's, Gigi's, and now an East Indian restaurant. I hope this new establishment thrives. Please note that I am not providing any ratings as they are required to post this review.
Gigi's is a great spot for lunch or dinner! Good food, pleasant atmosphere and excellent service! Parking right out front as well!
Unfortunately, after visiting the restaurant twice, I have come to the conclusion that it will be challenging for them to survive. Our first visit was for lunch with four adult males. Despite reading excellent reviews in the local paper (not on TripAdvisor), we were disappointed with the food. On our second visit for dinner with our wives, one couple ordered the Pork Medallions, my wife ordered Lasagna, and I ordered Salisbury Steak. However, the cook forgot to order the pork that day, so we ended up with three portions of Lasagna and one Salisbury Steak. The Lasagna had to be sent back to be reheated, and my steak was just okay. The Garlic bread consisted of three small pieces of buttered bread with garlic salt. It was a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. The only silver lining was that the couple we were dining with generously paid for our meal that night. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to Gigi's.
Wanted to try something new. Lunch menu has a selection of soups, N American fare and Asian fare. I was hoping for some Thai but no luck. Had chicken pot pie with puff pastry on top. Looked good, a hint of curry but the pastry was a little tough. I thought I would be the only person but a lady came in later. Not sure if it is more active at dinner. It was nice enough but not sure I would come back
