There was 2 employees. One was very nice and helpful and was not having a good day. He just threw our toppings on, and if asked for a little bit more he was like so over the top with it and I asked for a small swipe of mayo and he gave it way to much. I asked it to be cut in half, yes even though it's a 6 inch. I had my 2 other co-workers with me and he did the same to them. But over all it was a great lunch!
I like Subway. I admit it. I was craving it, and had just gotten out of Grant Hosputal, and looked accordingly. I was waiting on my VA rep to pick me up to take me to the Veterans clinic, and went here for a sandwich and to clean up a bit. Immediately, the apparent manager was treating me as if I were a vagrant (not that vagrants should ever be treated in such a manner either) and trying to force my order or exact discomfort and embarrassment so to eject me from this facility. Mind, that this was all within the first 60-90 seconds that I was in the store, and that there was a couple at the counter placing their order. I purchased $21 worth of subs and beverage that day, so I could take some with me for later, and the young black girl that prepared them was excellent-made exceptional sandwiches and had an air of embarrassment at her bosses treatment toward me. I realize that there is a homeless shelter within the block in one direction, but there is also a state of the art hospital in the other direction, and people often good people, experiencing possibly the most difficult things that life can bring are the patrons and denizens of both, and can outwardly it can probably be difficult to differentiate between them. People do not look their best during times of crisis, but nearly all will seek an establishment of comfort (food) to find a reprieve from their current reality, the gravitas of their situation. Six months prior, as my wife were on her deathbed decades early, my wallet and phone stolen, and I was stranded outside in Hilliard in temperatures close to 0, concerned only with trying to be near her and oblivious to the fact that I were becoming frostbitten and confused, two Subway employees saw me, and brought me into their store and fed me like a king, gratis, and unprovicated. I didn't explain the events that had left me in that situation. I was even oblivious to the fact that I wasn't eating, sleeping, or paying attention to my own wellness. They treated me with compassion and respect. They insisted I take soup and a sub with me too. How we treat the least of creatures, and those during their most difficult times is what shows our mettle as human beings.
The sandwich was strong, as excepted...#ItalianBMT but the sandwichArtist wasn't really... I don't know. I mean I asked a couple questions concerning sandwiches and he got started and his method of preparing the sandwich...he needed me to babysit him. I passed on the 1st bread he pulled out because he poorly cut and ripped it, his spread of the ingredients was leading to a lop-sided sandwich and he it's as if he was there for hisself more than the customer...or the Subway. The first half of the sandwich was fullfilling, I wanted to sit and eat half and bring half home. But I really could have done without the employee that was being the face of the store. #poorService #excellentProduct Wanted to eat at Subway, half the sandwich, before coming home, did that but the whole sandwich making process was very, very discouraging. Have your popularity youngMan, but that really put a damper on my Subway visit. I don't get to do that to often. I was a sandwichArtist. And I hope I never moved a customer the way I was moved. I will enjoy this second half momentarily tho. Wanted double meat and everything.
Food is good, accurate, but the waiting time was atrocious. 30 minutes. Yikes!
