We attended a family party here. The food was excellent and plentiful and the staff was so friendly and attentive!
My wife and I typically share a chicken cobb salad and a burger at this restaurant. It's hard to believe, but the $9.99 chicken cobb salad is more than enough for one person! We also want to mention that they have entertainment on Saturday nights.
We spent two days in the Columbus, Ohio area in conjunction with graduation festivities for a grand daughter of ours. Had lunch with other family members at the Market District Kitchen and Bar on the 3rd of May. Very nice decor and furnishings with a delightful menu of fresh food options. The service was a little slow but it was otherwise a wonderful occasion. Had the chicken cobb salad which was nicely presented with fresh ingredients. The serving was large enough that I could not finish it. Also shared a couple of appetizers with the table. One of our party opted for gluten free choices and the waiter allowed us to purchase gluten free crackers in the adjoining market and bring them to our table. Enjoyable and relaxing luncheon for all of us.
My friend and I discovered this place on Friday when we popped in to buy snacks for our hotel since we live outside of Ohio. We excitedly decided to go back on Saturday for dinner We arrived around 6:15pm and were told the kitchen was short staffed so it could be up to a 30 minute wait for the food. We were cool with that. A jazz trio then started up which would be great in a crowded restaurant but was super loud as the place was pretty dead. We asked to be seated as far away as possible TEN minutes after being seated Kristen finally decides to greet us and bring us water. We order an appetizer, two meals and I ordered sweet tea. We learn after this time from the table next to us that there is no kitchen staff just the manager. Okay we are wondering why they didn’t just close but we are trying to be cool. That table finished their wine and left after cancelling their food order. TWENTY minutes after ordering sweet tea I finally get it. It’s not sweet tea. It’s the raspberry tea you get out of the Coke dispenser. And she put a lemon in it. Of course she didn’t seem to know the soda pop they had off the top of her head either At this we politely inquire about our food. There are maybe three other tables occupied in the restaurant at this point. And we’ve been there over half an hour and have seen our waitress TWICE! Around 5 min later she comes out with our spinach and artichoke dip. You can immediately tell it was ready well before it was brought to us but whatever. Yeah the outside is melted with brown spots, the inside is approximately 37 degrees. My friend confirms this and asks the hostess for the bill for my tea and the appetizer. Oh and we heard Kristen complaining about her three tables that she was completely ignoring! She brings our full bill to the table then attempts to figure out the balance of just the two items. And sticks her finger in the dip to confirm it’s cold and we are still charged for it! First time in my life I didn’t leave a single penny for a tip. My friend and I have worked as servers and in the kitchen. We are patient and understanding diners. I leave tips over 20% consistently and would have left a great tip if there had been any attempt at service. The manager appears to have very little business in the kitchen but Kristen has less business as a server. Nothing was done to at all to ensure the dining patrons were attended to with the food wait. I love visiting Bexley when I’m in the Columbus area but pretty sure this place will not even get a cent out of me for the grocery store, let alone the restaurant.
