After read the good reviews, we decided to drive a long way to Truffle Pigs for a good Canadian dinner. It was disappointed. We thought it's overrated and over priced food. We arrived a few minutes before 5:00pm, almost no waiting since it opens for dinner at 5:00pm. Not a big space inside with flying pigs decor. We ordered a steamed mussels as starter, it was average and on the salty side since we have had many mussle dishes (17 CAD.) For the main dishes, we ordered the seared salmon (28 CAD) and the pork piccata (32 CAD.) The salmon was just OK, not the best we have had. The salmon (Organic Chinook BC Salmon) we had at The Inn Grill in Jasper was much better and cheaper (24 CAD.) If you are in Jasper, try this restaurant, sitting is upscale, food are delicious and service is good. The pork piccata was the worst. Dry and not tender at all in either Asian or American standards. Pork tenderloin should tender. This dish was salty too. The food presentations appear good though. The service was average too. Not one came to fill our water and waited long for check until asked.

After driving through the Rockies and visiting spectacular Takakkaw Falls, we had a nice lunch at the Truffle Pigs Bistro. The restaurant was comfortable and homey, and we enjoyed a good hamburger, grilled chicken salad, and soup of the day, Beet Borscht, made quite tasty with sour cream. Good food and pleasant service made for a perfect lunch break. We'll go back!
