The Potato House German

The food is made to order, so it may take a bit longer to arrive at your table. However, the wait is definitely worthwhile! I tried the Jagerschnitzel with croquette potatoes, and as you can see in the photos, the portions are generous and incredibly delicious! The outside was crispy while the inside was tender and juicy, topped with a delightful mushroom gravy. I requested a bit more spice, and they happily obliged. The owner was also very friendly and enjoyed chatting with us, which was a pleasant surprise! They've recently acquired their alcohol license, so while they are still building their drink selection, I'm sure it will feature some lovely German options soon. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with beautiful decor, although it might be a bit challenging to accommodate large groups of over 12 people. Just be prepared to take a little extra time for your meal to be prepared fresh, and you will be well rewarded!

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at the Potato House on February 9, 2017! The owners and staff were incredibly warm and friendly. The food was authentic and expertly prepared, with generous portions. The value is fantastic. I highly recommend the Jägerschnitzel and the Hoppel Poppel.

The salads served as appetizers were incredibly fresh, and the white balsamic house dressing was divine. We also ordered the cheese balls as an appetizer, and I highly recommend you do the same! They are essentially roasted cheese potatoes—just delicious! I had the chicken cordon bleu, which was tasty but a bit dry for my liking. I might choose something different next time, but you can add a mushroom sauce for an extra charge, which could resolve my issue! My friend ordered the pork jägerschnitzel for dinner and absolutely loved it. He’s eager to return after our visit. Now, onto dessert! The cold dog cake tasted like a rich Kit Kat-filled cake, and it was a hit. The prices are great, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is lovely! The Solyanka soup is out of this world. It features various meats in a tangy red broth, topped with sour cream—a burst of flavor that’s unlike anything I've had before. We both loved it! I also had the frozen lake chicken, which was a delicious dish with tender chicken and vegetables in a creamy white sauce over rice. It was truly a wonderful meal. My friend ordered the same thing as last time and still enjoyed it just as much. He left feeling pleasantly full and very happy.

Needs more than 5 stars, this food is amazing and the waitress and cook are amazing people. Also great prices. I have eaten at Edelweiss and her food is compared to this place. It's an amazing little hole in the wall egg. Come on!

Loved this place!!!! Excellent German food. I had the Jagerschnitzel mit korketten and a fresh mixed salat.... absolutely loved it. The owner is a hard workin lady, providing great German food for the Colorado Springs area. I will definitely eat there again.
