My Hubby and I enjoyed a dinner for two $40) called Samgyeopsal-gui Grilled Pig Bell. So delicious! It came with rice, soup and a number of Korean side dishes. The location and aesthetics of the restaurant are not fantastic, but the prices and taste are worth it! If you enjoy Korean food.. this is it.
Homemade food, Charming service, Moderatly Priced. I guess it's been five years since I had really good Korean food. Many places no longer on the diner the whole range of sides, kimchi, pickled and seasoned vegetables and marinated tofu. San Chang Korean House keeps nothing back on variety, quality and serving. The cost per meal can run around $15-$25, but it includes the main dish, sticky rice, and up to nine small pages of spicy, salty, savory delectables that I really enjoy. The Relish selection is wonderful: Kohl-Kimchi, bamboo with hot sauce, marinated cucumbers in red chilli-relish, freakishly fresh bean sprouts with sesame and sweet peppers, thin cut fish paste with green pepper, shredded potato with carrot and vinegar, zucchini with onions and red chilli, and daikon ray. Each of them was refreshing, crisp and incredibly satisfying... I love the stuff. I tried to penetrate the fried chicken strips in a sweet and spicy soy marinade and served sizzling on a hot plate that seer brown the bottom of each piece. It is delicate and crisp and contrasts well with the spicy sides. The highlight of the meal was the house, the fried pork emptying appetizer made with a green onion and chili soy garlic diving sauce. They are plump, loaded with a moist cabbage mixture which is thoroughly carved with fresh black pepper and green onions. They burst with taste, perfectly cooked and try a must on the menu. With my hot green tea, my bill was at $23, which is not bad considering that they refill every page and keep the tea and sauces fully charged. The atmosphere is rustic and somehow secret. The combined experience is unforgettable and worth a try. Be adventurous and try some of the Korean BBQ options as well. This place is the real deal.
Good. Possibly the best in the Springs. Kimchi chigae is great, and the little side dishes are fresh! The cook/ owner is always gracious and he always attempts to come out and say hello when he has a chance.
Nom nom nom. I first found this place a few years ago, and in that time I've not found a single location here in the Springs that even come close.. There is a rather large menu to work with but you get get the best bang for your buck at the lunch special.. The dinner meals are great too but the bill can be a bit higher than expected because of all of the extra side dishes that come with the dinner meals.. The kimchi is second to none as is the kimbab. Personally, I recommend the beef buulgoogi... Trust me on that one..
Clean food, tastes great and authentic. Not much ambience, but friendly service. Experienced, busy restaurant, many Koreans so you know it's good. Kimchi is delicious, delicious!!
