Mamacitas Mexican Restaurant & Lounge

Had their Taco Sopa and it looked and tasted like Campbell's vegetable soup with a couple of meagre pieces of chicken and a pinch of cheese and a few taco chips. The beef tacos were a joke with a few strips of beef that tasted like they put hp sauce on it. Terrible excuse for a beef taco. I guess if this place is the only place locals ever ate Mexican food they'd think it was good. I cook way better Mexican food and I'd bet if I opened a Real Mexican restaurant in Cold Lake and the people got to taste real Mexican food then Mamacitas would be belly up in a month. It serves up a horrible excuse for Mexican food.

What a great find in Cold Lake...visiting from out of town, we were very impressed with the quaint size of the restaurant, the service was fantastic and the food was really really great...we had the beef burrito and chicken enchiladas with guac and salsa and chips to start, washed down with a couple margaritas and mojitos... all of it was very good...my only regret is we don't live closer!!

We only discovered this restaurant this summer & have been four times over the last couple of months. Each and every time we have really enjoyed both the food and the service.We even chose here to be our venue for our last night with our kids before they resumed their separate lives.This is the best Mexican food I've tasted, it's genuine and reasonable. I thoroughly recommend.

The service was good, and the food was also unexpectedly great! You can get things mild for the sissies like me, or ask for especially spicy and get it!

We love coming here! Whether my husband and I come to eat in or we order take out for the family, the food is great every single time. We haven't tried all the items on the menu, but my personal faves are the burrito, chimichanga and the pupusas. Delicious!!
