Lemongrass Thai Cuisine - Colac

We stopped into Colac for a quick lunch on our way down to the Great Ocean Road, and with a hankering for Asian food we came upon Lemongrass Thai, where we enjoyed a delicious selection from the special lunch menu. Between two of us, we shared a starter of Thai Fish Cakes (as good as we’ve tasted in most places), then shared a beef red curry and rice, and a chicken pad Thai. The quality of the food was very good, the servings were generous and we felt we’d had a bargain lunch when we saw the bill. The surroundings are more café than restaurant but everything is clean and tidy and the service was lovely. We’ll definitely look for a Thai lunch here again, next time we pass through Colac.

On the way to Melbourne we step by for nice late dinner. The kitchen still open and let us to order. The food is very good and authentic, and also the dissert. Waiters very warm and friendly. Definitely will be back when I'm around. Thanks.

We went there at 520pm and we ordered two starters (soup and dumplings) and a main dish red Thai curry and rice and asked for it all to be served together. My wife asked a few questions about the dumplings and the waitress didn't even know what was in them. We waited about 40minutes despite being the only table as Priority was given to takeaway customers. After 40minutes the waitress came and apologised saying it would be a few more minutes as the chef put our food in takeaway containers. Finally the starters arrived but no sign of the main dish despite asking for it to come out together! My wife finished her starters which were her main dish and I was still waiting for my thai red curry and rice. We then went to ask to pay as I was very hungry and frustrated and this is when we were told they hadn't even started cooking the curry. On top of that they asked us to pay extra for a silly tiny portion of chilli sauce (as the Thai soup basically just had coconut milk in it) despite the poor service.

Nice find for two weary travellers. Great flavours, lots of fresh veg in dishes and all tasted different from the other. You know those places where everything tastes the same? Not this place. We chose takeaway but dine in would be a good option too if that's your preferred, this is a nice, clean place. Staff were very welcoming.
