Przekaż informację zwrotnąA large group of us went for a Wednesday lunch in May. There are a few choices on the fixed price menu. I started with the charcutier selection (very pleasant). For main course I had cote de porc (like a thin sliced pork chop) with mixed and rather overcooked vegetables and finished with the crème brulee. With half a carafe of local wine the bill was circa 16 euros. That was perfectly acceptable for a hearty honest meal. This place is much favoured by the local workmen. The atmosphere is created by the clientele but certainly not the décor! The staff are a delight. Recommended for a straight forward, nothing special, good value lunch if you are in the area. The restaurant, housed in a Logis Hotel, is immediately opposite the Cognac railway station. Parking is free in the station car park!!! For the British parking at a railway station for free is a delight.
Delightful family run hotel [whole family helped sort out a W Fi problem]. Main accommodation is in chalet style blocks of [separate] bedrooms. Well organised for Covid 19 distancing, including in the breakfast room where an excellent self=service breakfast was provided. Absolutely lovely pool so refreshing on a hot afternoon. Reasonable stroll into central Cognac.
The Oliveraie is a Logis de France that has, presumably because of its location , decided to cater for the travelling salesman woman rather than the well off travelling Brit who normally use Logis. As a result the set menu at just 14 .5 euros represents by far the best thing they do. Excellent food, well cooked, well presented and amazing value for 4 courses.Eat outside if you can. Otherwise use the cafe bit rather than the dining room with the TV on favoured by the reps and workmen.
Reception and smiling service, simple meals, family but very well appointed for a good price
We came for a meeting, the lunch served at noon was exceptional. cold buffet in entry that was suitable then the salmon spinach dish was not terrible the salmon was too cooked, the insipid sauce and when came the choice of dessert apparently bigger thing available since we were the last at table. concerning the upstairs apartment that serves as a meeting room, the space is quite limited and misplaced.
