The Hub Cafe & Wine Bar - Cochrane

I'll start by saying that the reason this place was given three stars instead of two is because the staff is incredibly friendly and upbeat. With that said, I have had coffee a couple of times here while visiting family. It was good the first time but each time after that it has been terrible. The caramel macchiato had no hint of caramel just tasted like black coffee. The mocha tasted like hot chocolate with zero coffee. It's a bummer that the coffee just isn't up to par because I prefer to support local business owners over chains.

This is a friendly little neighbourhood spot. However, I'm a stickler for clean in a place where food is served. It's getting a bit grubby in there, and the booths, which are a nice idea, sink way too low for the table. Not comfortable. The service is friendly and the music isn't too loud though. I like that they serve wine, and there are games if you want to play. Quite a nice spot, but I only gave it an average rating because of the lack of cleanliness.

Stopped by The Hub for a coffee and light breakfast. Coffee was great, breakfast not so much, someone took my order and so I never got a chance to eat as they were now out of the main ingredients. No worries. Family run business that is trying to do too much with too little.Business needs to be cleaned, tables were not wiped down, again probably due to not enough staff. Just a side note, when I ordered a coffee the day before from a competing coffee shop I was given the coffee for free because they could not give me exactly what I ordered. That's how you treat customers. Probably won't be back here.

Love the atmosphere and idea of this place...friendly service and great coffee. However, the last few visits it appears that the cleanliness of the place has really gone downhill. Went for a coffee in the early morning - the place had not been cleaned from the previous night (floors, tables, dusting, kitchen was a mess) The washrooms had not been cleaned.

The Hub is primarily a coffee shop and they serve a great coffee whether you choose a regular blend or an espresso based drink. The Americano misto (espresso with steamed milk) was very good. I especially love the breakfast croissant that has ham, egg and a tasty tang that makes the sandwich pop.
