Spicy as hell! If you are looking for spicy Chinese food then this is the place to go to! There were an unbelievable number of choices on the menu so if you don 't know what to order, I recommend reading the reviews OR going with someone who 's been there before. There 's a 'fresh ' chicken dish that 's outstanding! The portions are manageable so order several dishes to get a good sampling. Also, expect a long wait especially if you come with a group. The restaurant is popular with locals AND tourists... I definitely expect to go again if I 'm in the neighborhood!
The DUCK!. I'll echo other commenters. Do not miss the Smoked Tea Duck. It is sensational. Other highlights were: Dan dan noodles swimming in a fiery broth of chili oil and black vinegar, Sichuan pickled cabbage which is bright, fresh and FIERY hot. We also had the sour long beans with minced pork which was garlicky and perfect. An incredible meal for two under $40.
Holy ****!!! The smoked Tea duck!. Dont miss this Smoke Tea Duck or the shredded smoked duck with green beans!!!
Grand Sichuan does the specialties well, the ma po to fu with minced beef $8.95) is very solid, spicy but not fiery. There is always something special and comforting about the texture and warmth of this dish. Also grab the cumin lamb $12.95), sometimes northeast Chinese dish, but with a Sichuanese flare here.
