Jane's Enchanted Tea Garden - Cherwell

So disappointing had looked forward to afternoon tea here since finding it during lockdown. Unfortunately it never properly re opened but business sold on . Now in Ducklington, some 15 miles away, and not particularly enchanting (much of the previous appeal was the location): very odd opening hours, extremely difficult to find, parking a nightmare and all for the rip off price of £30 per head (the food was good but no way worth that cost)

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at Jane's Enchanted Gardens yesterday. Originally scheduled for my birthday in 2020, we had to postpone due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. Jane graciously rescheduled all bookings to 2021. The service was excellent, welcoming us with Prosecco upon arrival and offering a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a fine selection of teas and coffee options, including decaf. The sandwiches were fresh and the cakes were delicious. They accommodated our dietary needs without any issues, catering for two vegetarians, one dairy-free, and one meat eater in our group. Unfortunately, one friend couldn't make it last minute, but they kindly packed her cream tea to go, along with a mini bottle of bubbly for us to enjoy at home. We are already looking forward to returning in August for dinner.

Having visited this place for several years and never been disappointed went for the full afternoon tea at £20 per head. Very disappointed, greatly over priced. Have had a lot better for less money elsewhere. The sandwiches were disappointing, agree with the comment below. Enquired about taking away a small piece of cake, it was closing time and they wanted £4.50 a slice. Would not recommend the afternoon tea, stick to tea amd scones.

I found this restaurant to be overpriced at £20 per person (prosecco available for an additional cost). The sandwiches were good, but for this price point, I would have expected smoked salmon instead of tuna. The savory items on the top tier of the cake stand seemed like leftovers, and the sausage rolls were the small frozen type you find in supermarkets. The cakes were excessively sweet, with flavors like lemon cream, fragrant syrup-soaked something, chocolate cupcake, and red velvet cupcake leaving a lingering sweetness in the throat. The scones with jam and cream were the highlight. I would have preferred being able to choose a slice of the excellent cakes instead. The tea was decent at first, but became weak after a top-up. Overall, the experience was disappointing.

I went to Jane's this past weekend to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. It was my second visit and just as fabulous as ever. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
